We chat to Andrin Berchtold about From Kid’s newest release, the first album he ever bought, and an iconic/horrific teen style phase involving ‘heavy gangster shit’…

Oh hi there. We’re a pop culture website. And you are…
Andrin Berchtold, Songwriter and Singer with the band From Kid.

We hear you make music. Tell us about your latest release?
Our latest release was our first single New Gods off our upcoming album called Favourite Storm.

Inspo is awesome. Who are your ultimate music icons/inspirations?
I find my inspiration everywhere, it never was just one particular musician or band. I’m more into songs.

The first album I bought with my own money was….
Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water from Limp Bizkit.

Are you heading on tour? Where can we see you?
Our tour leads us through the whole of Switzerland, and some venues in Germany and Austria.

My fondest memory as a musician is…
The moment when our newest album Favourite Storm really was brought to an end.

On my rider, you’ll find…
Good rum. And good whiskey.

If I was to play with one musician/band before I die, it would be…
Daughter.

What’s the buzz, tell us what’s happening next?
The release of our second studio album – it will appear on 7 April.

If one lyric could define me, it would be…
One of my own. The Lyrics of Underground really somehow define me.

My iconic/horrific teen outfit/phase was…
When I was 14, wearing heavy American gangster shit.

My friends always tell me…
Not to be too modest about my music.

I know all the words to…
Quite a lot songs by Fink.

Buying me a round? I’ll have…
A Moscow Mule.

If I was a rapper, I’d be…
Eminem, because he is king.

My lucky charm is…
To get along with almost everyone.

The one word I can’t stop saying is…
Mad.

I wish I was…
A cosmonaut

I would never…
Sell my heart to the music business.
